Complete 1974 FJ40 powertrain Abilene, TX

Going to be installing a GM drivetrain in my trail rig, so this all has to come out of my 1974 FJ40:

Complete (oil pan to air cleaner and everything in between) F engine in good running condition (does not smoke, carb is crappy from sitting - stumbles badly when the secondary kicks in but no other issues)

3-speed transmission (floor shift)

3-speed transfer case

Front and rear axles, complete (brakes are totally shot but gears, birfs, Warn HD hubs good) Believe they are 4.10

$800 OBO for all of it FOB Abilene, TX. It it all still in the rig so you can hear it run, feel the clutch (supposed to be pretty fresh) and otherwise inspect whatever you wish.

Would consider partial trade for a Toyota transfer case with a 21-spline input... would prefer offset rear output (if there is such a puppy?) but not required.

Engine, transmission and transfer case are pulled and sitting on my trailer. I sealed off all the orificies so no critters crawl in. The bellhousing, clutch and slave cylinder are still attached to the engine.

So, if you still want it and have a cherry picker, it would be a cinch to deliver.

Transfer case is sold pending working out shipping, the rest is still available.

Will be heading to Ranger, TX this evening to pick up an axle. If any folks of the D/FW persuasion would be interested in the engine, I will have it with me.

Transfer case sold and shipped to 73fj55 but still waiting on difference in shipping. The engine and partially disassembled transmission need to go, will take $300

How much for the trans shipped to 43221? It's in working order and ready to install or doe it need some love?

My main bearing went out on my 3speed and looking for a swap in.

When I was pulling the transfer case loose the main shaft of the transmission tried to come out, and a small piece of metal, about 3/16" x 3/16" x 1" fell out.

I am not experienced in assembling these units and will need to study some exploded diagrams before I attempt to re-assemble. If I can get it all back together properly, I'd say $50 for the trans but it might take that much again to crate and ship. That transfer case was bulkier but ended up costing $96.33 to ship via UPS. I think the transmission would be cheaper since it would not require such a huge box.

I'll play with it over the weekend and see if I can't get it all back together.
