I posted this in the 80 forum first, then decided it was a more general question.

My wife would like to see some AC power availble at this year's tailgate parties; she was impressed last season by our friend's inverter in their H2. I've looked at the range of modified sine wave types and was considering stepping up to the pure sine wave on the idea that our son would run his PC from it on trips if it was there. I know that many items will run fine on mdified isne - not looking for a comparision between the types here, but rather feedback on a couple of models that Xantrex offers in pure sine if anyone out there is using them - TS400 [also known as XS400 maybe] and Prosine 1000.

I have found that most of Xantraxs' higher end inverters are decent. (prosine) However, the low end are just that.... low end.

be carefull getting into an inverter, make sure you have enough juice to run it. That 1000W inverter is going to suck about 85-90Amps at full load - you need to have a lot of batteries to run that.
