Can anyone recommend a good Diesel shop that is familiar with toyotas in Colorado. I am in Breckenridge, but can bring the truck pretty much anywhere.

I am looking for someone that can tune the truck for altitude and just do a good pre winter checkup. I'd rather trust someone with experience as I have a ton to learn about my new rig.

Thanks all!

there is really no tuning involved. It's a minor fuel adjustment til you don't blow black. I Seriously recommend a pyro on that truck at our altitude. You'll be amazed at the temps. Tuning for altitude is a turbocharger.

Is it a 3b? I can help you adjust the fuel.

It has a 2B. Very similar except that it has the injection system of the B.

I am looking at adding a turbo, but don't know when I can get it installed as winter is coming fast!

I was thinking of the AXT, but I found that there si a company from oz that sells a 2b specific system with a garrett.

I'd love any help or information as I am very new to diesel engines. all I know is that I love the 30 MPG I got on the drive home!

I also agree its very easy for you to tune and maintain. Buy a pyro for those high altitudes.

A turbo would be nice.

Breck,
You can DL the manual here. http://www.birfield.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=77I would change the fluids. I'd run the rotella syn 5w-40 (in the blue bottle) up there. I would test the glow plugs to make sure they are all working and adjust the fuel. Ideally it would help to have a pyro on the exhaust to find out where the egts are but you can adjust without. Even so I wouldn't feel confortable driving it without one. You can easily run that engine 2000* +
