Hey folks,

I'm working on my interior; I pulled the instrument gauge and sanded and buffed the glass for the dials. Next, I want to pull the bezel to paint it and see if I can get it close to the original look. I searched the forum for relevant threads, but there isn't enough to build on. Any ideas on the color? I bought OER K89182 on a whim because it looks like the same color/pattern, but that's an experiment, and I'm trying to see if I can find other brands/colors that get me close to the original look.

Thoughts and guidance would be appreciated.

I and others have used Rustoleum Metallic Soft Iron on various exterior trim pieces of the same color. It's close, but I don't think it's exact unfortunately. I Image SEM probably has a good color for this but I haven't had a chance to go down that wormhole yet. I am currently in the process of refinishing some more of my exterior trim, and I need to do the IC as well. I've been meaning to take a ride over to the auto body supply store to try and figure out a good match for this. I'll try and get over there in the next couple days. I'll update if I come up with a good solution.

Went to Lowe's and picked up a couple of Rattler cans, gave it a try: Krylon Fusion All-In-One Gloss Black Stainless Metallic (left) and Dark Metal (right). The right one looks a tad closer to the original look.
