hi, I have a 1984 fj40, (New Zealand new) which has a colour/trim code of B-725308?
Have checked vin number and chassis no. And it is a 1984, and original Color looks red under bolts and parts not repainted however cannot find that code anywhere. Is the first part the Color code or last part?
If last part Color 308 Have traced to a Brilliant Persimmon, but that was a 1970s Color?

Would like to repainted to original Color or if can't get a match may have to see if I can get a part off with old Color and get that matched, which as it is red could be freeborn red 309.
Any ideas?

Checked the Internet for all combinations of the code as single or two tone and still no luck.
Found this site in Aussie that may be helpful to others as it has all the Toyota colours www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au
For all years and includes two tone.

Looks like I might have to go to the local car paint seller and see if they can match a jack holder, which I forgot about and found stored that is original Color.

Looks like Freeborn Red 309. From the mid-70's on, that was the only stock red for Land Cruisers.

The color is not listed on your identification plate because it is not the standard id plate. The plate itself is, but the information is not. Perhaps this vehicle was purchased by some government entity?

There is another like it posted, from an 1983 FJ45, also from NZ. Like yours, the characters are embossed rather than engraved, the standard information is not included, and the unit number is also stamped on the firewall.

Compare to this 1984 FJ45. Same plate, the standard information is engraved.

Thats interesting may have been an order for the conservation department, or bulk buy for farmers direct from Toyota?

I think it is Freeborn Red 309, and will be happy to paint it that color with a white roof. Its metallic black at the moment (not looking forward to rubbing that down), and have bought a rear cab with ambulance doors off another 1980's truck to to rebuild back to original.
Got a bit of rust in them which I am repairing with new steel. Managed to get a full set of rubbers for cab off ebay, after some good advise from cityracer. Then will be looking for a pair of small jump seats for back.
Thanks for the information
