well awhile ago my winch ate some A/C lines so i just pulled the pump, condenser and the lines. no problems.

now that it got really cold (i'm in AK) i noticed that my heater started blowing cold air so i moved the control to cold then back to hot. when i moved it back to hot it got hard to push and started blowing hot air again but i couldn't move it back.

when i took my stereo deck out and was messing with it the cable that goes to the firewall by the throttle cable came off and just won't move.

the one the connects to the same control but goes to the passenger side and connects to a little white plastic lever is all good and moves freely. does the one that isn't moving have something to do with the A/C and i should just forget about it?

the one that is not moving goes to the valve under the hood that allows the antifreeze into your heater coil, if it is cold all the time then it will not be a problem, but if it gets hot then you will be miserable in your cab.

what would make it freeze up like that all of the sudden and what would i do about it?

you should check the valve under your hood, and make sure it moves freely, i do not know why they freez up but mine did it, and i have not pulled it out yet to look at it.

The valve on my 85 was frozen shut. Cost about $70 for a new one from Toyota. You could also try soaking it in CLR for a few days and see if it clears up.

Just don't do what I did and try to force it with the temp control lever. After it fell apart I spent a couple hours putting it all back together. No fun.
