Hey folks, Ive been researching coil conversion kits. Offerings vary in price and design. Icon and Perry Parts are simpler and considerably less expensive. Dobinsons and MetalTech look more involved but are 3x the price of other kits that are supposed to be doing the same thing.

What’s the deal? This doesn’t seem like a part that would aid or hinder performance or safety in a measurable way. Why would I want to pay more??

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I had the Ironman kit in for quite some time, until I swapped to a coil-spring 8.2 rear axle and no longer needed it. I liked it as it is threaded so ride height can be adjusted. I'm not sure that can be done with the other options. I actually still have the kit (sans the rubber isolators, which I'm still using), and would sell it cheap if you are interested.

The middle ground! All right!

@Rednexus I’ve sent a message to Ironman 4x4 to see if they’ll sell me just the upper isolators. If so, I’ll absolutely buy your lower pieces. Thanks for mentioning!

You can get the upper isolators on Amazon too for $30-50/ea. I'll sell you the lower coil conversion parts for $20+ shipping. I happened to find them yesterday as I was cleaning out my shop.
