Just pulled the code from my 94. It blinked 7 times then once then long pause. Anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

Thanks

Andy

On my 94 it was the EGR modulator that was blown. IIRC. There are several other culprits and several other threads on the fixes. :) good luck.

EGR code. Changing out the modulator has kept my code 71 from coming back for quite a while.

The same thing happened to me on my 92, I replaced the EGR modulator (not the EGR) my 71 code reappeared today. When I replaced the modulator I also pulled the EGR off and cleaned the crap off it and pulled the sensor connected to itand also cleaned that. I regained much needed ponies, but the code came back and I was on the freeway doing about 70 and started overheating, had to run the heat to cvool it down. It was only upper 70's. So I too am looking for a solution.

So by cleaning it you got some extra power? That sounds exciting. Ill have to try that. Are there any adverse side effects of letting this light stay on? If, say, it is the modulator what damage am I causing by not addressing it? Sorry but I am not really familiar with the EGR system.

I wouldn't say I had EXTRA ponies, it was just lacking what it should have had in the first place. The light hasn't come back on yet. I also adjusted the timing and now it's running alot better but it's pinging, so I'll have to back it off a little bit. If your light is on than there is a reason, try to find it. there's lots of help here.
