APRIL 12, 2006 COASTAL CRUISER MEETING.

About nine CC members met at the Pantry Restaurant (sorry about that ABC mix-up) and the service was good, the food OK. This place is probably the best compromise that suits the most members. It even had a fireplace to keep our backsides warm in this lousy cold spring weather. ;p

The meeting convened on time much to everybody’s surprize.
Members present were:
Greg B., Petra N., Gary T., Mike McT., Rob M., Rod McD., Marcin C., Jeff S., Phil S., Martin S., Bruce D., Craig E., Clarence G., Steve T., Dan M., Garr C., Don D., Greg vanT., Steve S., Paul K., and Bill W.
Visitor: Justin.

First order of busines was planning for the May Long Weekend May 20-22 trip to the Churn Creek/ Black Dome Mountain/ Yodel Creek area south of the Gang Ranch. I will post a roadmap directions on Mud later. The Trail Boss will be Mike McT although not everybody may be able to keep up with him out in the bush. Mike and Bill are planning to go up to Churn Creek on Friday, May 19 and set camp. We will place a sign on the road indicating our campsite turn off, slightly South of last year’s location. Members are advised to take plenty of fuel in Jerry cans, we will need it if we take the backroads route home.
Members who expect to go on the May Long weekend so far are:
Rod McD., Mike McT., Phil S. (tentative), Greg B., Bill W., Don D.(new member), Martin S., Craig E., Steve T., Steve S. (WussyPup), Barry P., Traci D., Chris H., and Gary T (tentative). Who else is in for this trip?

New members signing up tonight were Don D. and Greg VanT. Welcome!

The other main topic of the meeting was Cruiser Days planning. Phil supplied a computer projector and screen for Clarence’s laptop. Clarence has prepared some outstanding posters and a choice of letters for sponsors and vendors. These letters and posters may be viewed and downloaded here on Mud on our thread. Members are asked to use these posters to approach potential sponsors and sell the idea of them contributing prizes and/or setting up a booth. We need everybody’s participation to make Cruiser Days a success again this year. The Lion’s Club has said that they will do the food.

The raffle prizes:
Phil walked away with both a set of cool wrenches and an incredible ice scraper.
Don D. took the nifty safety harness.
Garr scored some very handy tie-down straps.
Craig E. took the totally rad funnel.
Rob M. swung with the axe.
Who got the trailer ball accessory? Greg B?

The meeting wound up around 10:00, and diesel-smoking member’s rigs slowly rattled off into the dark rainy night, while up above on the bridge, the 18 wheelers rolled South on 99, sending their weed cargos to desperate drug-crazed Washingtonian freaks.
