For first time visitors to the Pacific Gateway Hotel (formerly Delta Hotel), it can be tricky finding the entrance.
We suggest you check out a Google map or MapQuest. The address is:

Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport

604-303-1376 | 3500 Cessna Drive, Richmond, BC V7B 1C7

Parking is Free but you have to tell the restaurant your vehicle licence number.
People usually start arriving at their Pier 73 Restaurant around 6:00 to 7:00 for drinks and appies, then we eat
around 8:00 to 8:30 or so. After that we do the raffle and mingle. The hotel offers us a good rate called "Take the Elevator
Home Rate" for those of you who don't feel like driving home. :steer:
Party costs are $20 for members, and $40. member escorts.

The hotel charges us $41. per person for the meal and evening venue. The club treasury contributes $21. toward members costs. We cannot afford to subsidize your escort, there simply is not enough money in the kitty. We do the best we can with the money available. Go to any decent restaurant/hotel/club and see what it costs you for the evening. We are not making any money on this function, in fact, we are draining the treasury for the benefit of members.

^^ yeah, airplane joke there..sorry back to your program!

Heidi had a charming co-worker with her named Brenda and they did a fabulous job serving drinks, hugs, and meals.
Here is a card she left for us and all CC members.

The annual Coastal Cruiser Xmas party zone was another good time this year, as usual. There were 32 people present and the evening was great. Lovely Heidi & her happy helper Brenda did a sweet job cheerfully dispensing hugs and drinks throughout the evening. Heidi even bought us gummy sweets & liqueur chocolates to start the evening. Outside on the river, brightly lit Christmas boats made their colorful rounds from the yacht club next door.

Among the group we were happy to see John G & his wife Leti again, he is feeling much better from his bout of difficult illness. Phil & Tracey made it down from Vernon and he is sporting the same cool haircut as Scalp these days. They stayed the night at the hotel and so did Jeff & Becky after downing an undetermined number of Lemon drop shooters.

Jeremy A & Kara were in good form and he is planning another bike run for cancer next summer. Recently married Pete G & Patti tell us that they are keeping the Cruiser and hope to haul it to Moab by trailer some day. Garry B & Nicole made it down from Brittania Beach through the heavy rain on the Sea to Sky. Other couples were Brad Reid & Sarah, as well as Phillip V & Glenda, and Bill & Willy, and Kim & Brenda, and Greg G & lovely wife Lesley. Lucky Lisa brought her pal Paul K although, sadly, all she won was a pair of shackles this year. Singles included Gary T, John V, Ruwi C, Rob S, Dan C, and finally Mike McT who won a fabulous set of Princess Auto rubber wheel chalks.

We were sorry Ratpuke didn't make it down but she would have been disappointed that there were no fist fights or swimming pool injuries, however we'll have to check back to Jeff whether there were any elevator incidents or sex in hotel hallways after hours!

Most members, being the macho males that we are, enjoyed the steak dinners and cheesecake, which was excellent again this year. The lucky best prize raffle winners were Kim and also Willy who snagged the nifty VHF radio transceivers with magnetic antennas. The group festivities went on through midnight and who knows how long up in the hotel after that. It was great again seeing most of the active CC members all in one place, and we expect to see a good turnout for the January 14 regular CC meeting. :santa: 2016 Calendars are available and Millson's restored 60 is in there too.
Many thanks to Rob S & Gary T for shopping for prizes, and Rob S for the calendars and treasury work to arrange the hotel contract.
