any issues with low temps on the co2 tools?

For a "first" tool I agree on the 1/2" impact. For a trail impact, I carry the IR2115, smaller, lighter and plenty of power, also a good option for a primary impact, but more $$$.

I just learned that unless you are running it for extended periods of time you should be okay. It will freeze up if your cutting or doing four tires as fast as possible.

Also, just learned that CO2 will dry out your gun more quickly than regular air so more frequent oiling is required.

That's why I would suggest it. It gets more torque than a 3/8" drive, and cost can be comparable. A 3/4"+ impact is going to be more than most people would ever need, and usually be quite expensive. If you look hard enough, you can find some higher-end 1/2" drives that can produce 800+ ft/lbs of torque in F or R.

ok next question, 10 lb co2 bottle, how much time or how many tires could you change with the imact? hard to measure but iam sure some has a idea. thanks

Some 3/8 have extremely high torque ratings.

However, 1/2 is going to reasonably priced and easily replaced. Ingersol Rand and Snap-On are my two favorites. I am using a 1000 ft/lbs 1/2 Ingersol and love it. I can click most things off with that gun, but the going gets tough, the 3/4 Snap-On 1100 ft/lbs always seemed to getrdun!
