New everything. 66FJ40 moved slave to ps with 78 2f install. When clutch pedal depressed, disengagement is ok but dragging noise. Should I adjust slave in or out? I just know that asking this silly question will save me some trial and error...
Any other ideas? Pedal adjustment?
Thanks.

How much free play do you have at the pedal before you feel the pedal hit the clutch master and start to engage?

How much free play is on the clutch fork/throw out bearing assembly to the pressure plate?

If either of these is out of adjustment, your clutch may not release or engage properly.

The clutch pedal has about an inch or so of free play, checked and adjusted height as it says in manual. I will check free play at fork when I get back to it next week. Must have missed checking that adjustment. Without it in front of me I'm guessing that the fork free play is adjusted at the slave push rod? My question was trying to confirm whether to lengthen or shorten the slave push rod to correct this dragging at disengagement. Seems like that would be the fix but I'm not clear which way it should go. Maybe when I look at it close it will be obvious?

In order to remove free play with the clutch fork/throw out bearing assembly in relation to the slave cylinder, you would need to make the acctuation rod from the slave cylinder longer....you would do this by backing off the 14mm jam nut from the 17mm acctuation rod nut, and then either hold the rod in place and turn the 17mm nut, or hold the 17mm nut in place and turn the rod....if everything is new, the latter works for me with just my fingers.

Good luck!
