What started as a "done early next week" job ended up taking ca 6 weeks and 2 transmission jacks from Horrible Freight to finish. Parts delays, uncooperative weather, differing schedules and ill health conspired to drag this job out. Still, I am happy to say I drove my truck home today with a few more notches in my wrench, to say nothing of a new clutch, fork boot, rear main seal, motormounts, throwout and pilot bearings. Lets not forget the experience of removing and reinstalling all of the above plus the transmission and t-case.
As always, Greg Thompson and John Mills walked me through most of it and turned alot of wrenches. I am especially indebted to Greg for loaning me his truck for several days and for the work space, tools etc. Also the IH8mud resource once again proved indespensible. At several points we learned things that got us over snags.
Thanks also to Heath Jordan who helped at critical moments.
I hope I have opportunity to return the favor to all of you at some point.
