After doing broken arrow trail in Sedona with some front and rear locker work out. I’ve got a front left clunking noise worse when the center lock is on and worst going around corners. Is this a Birfield joint?

Birfs tend to sound like clicking or popping. So it goes away when pointed straight and starts to clunk when you turn left?

Also look at sway bars. You worked it hard and may have wrecked some bushings.

Locking the CDL will input more twist into the frame and may exacerbate the noise.

mine had a clunk in sway bar bushing. grab sway bar and yank around on it and if you hear any metal get new bushings.

Front sway bar was disconnected when this started. Its not the sway bar. Sway bushings look great.

You guys are right though, It is more of a popping sound than a clunk.

Figured it out It was one of the radius arm bushing bolts on the axle. Helped me do some maintenance though as I added some grease to the knuckles.

Fixed it Poser shot:
