Allright, here I am! I heard Phil was already talkin' trash about me from an internal 40-spy I have on this forum;). I know Phil, but I usually don't admit it:D.

So here goes: Hi everyone, my name is Bill, and I'm an alcoholic... whoops, wrong meeting:o. I'm a new 40 owner, but I do have some history with TLC's. A good friend had several 40's when we were growing up, which we pounded the tar out of. He even raced one at DaGrove back in the days when they had mud-drags up there. In fact, he's still got his 2F race engine under a pile of junk in the garage, so if I get serious I may have to try to get that baby. I've been around long enough to have engaged more than a few mentally-challenged folks in the "It's NOT a JEEP, dummy" arguements:D. My brother even had a stock FJ55 for awhile, though he wasn't a big TLC guy, he just stumbled into it and liked it until the motor blew-up. I've been out of trucks for many years, more into hot-rods, classic/muscle and race cars; but I've owned numerous Chevy/GMC Blazers and pickups when I was younger. My '74 Blazer saw a lot of mud and trail action back in the day, it was most fun with 8" of suspension and 36" bias-TSL's - and an 8274; though in the end it had 12" suspension/3" body and 42" TSL bias-plys... Hopefully I'll get to meet you guys on one of your outings.
My FJ40 is fairly stock '66, build date of May '65, with the early-style corrugated top and vented-windshield frame. Creme color with a few repaints over the years, F engine, 3spd converted to floor and vaccum-shifted case. I don't know where I'm going with it yet, but it is sucking me in quickly... finances will probably dictate what happens. My other main ride is a '60 Buick LeSabre ragtop, though I have several other projects scattered across two states in a few thousand pieces:rolleyes:
Thanks to Phil for tracking me down after he heard I "got one" and throwing me some free advice - and free parts too:cool:.
This is a great site, between the FAQ threads and numerous searches I've already picked up a lot of great info. I'll post and surf when possible, though I don't get on the computer as much as I'd like to sometimes. I'll probably re-post some of this in the Tech Forum to introduce myself over there, too.
So that's my story, I'm ready to be brutalized - thank you sir, may have another!
Oh, and by the way :flipoff2:

OK LMRacing, no pics, no '66 exist!!:flipoff2:
While you're at it, post a pic of that old Buick. Love the big old boats.
Welcome, good first post:flipoff2::flipoff2:

OK Gappy, I have a couple pic's of the Buick handy, so I'll see if I can get them posted inspite of my low-tech computer ways... If this works, I'll strip the 40 pictures off the camear and throw them up in a little while.

Thanks for the welcome:flipoff2:

OK, I'm amazed how simple this is to post pictures! I just realized I don't have a picture of the 40 with the top on, so here's a pic of the top and also a before and after shot of the interior, which was "tri-color" when I got it:

Now here's a few exterior shots:

Hey Lynchmob, side note....I caught a glimpse of a show last night that my better half was watching, I think on discover channel. It was a food show I think called bizzare Foods or something like that. anyway, the host of the show drives a white '60 Buick ragtop, looks just like yours. Nice car.

Ginger gets douchy with everybody Bill. You'll learn to despise him just as everybody else does. :flipoff2:

Let me know when you got a little time, I'm looking to sand blast that bib I have. I also have those **** wiper arms you need!

Don't worry, I despise him already:flipoff2:.

I'll get that bib from ya whenever you want. I'm RDO Thurs-Fri, but working at Cabrini on Thurs. 2nd watch; be in the garage Friday all day I hope. Otherwise, maybe I can take a run by you one night over the next week, so I can verify that you have a 40 for Dan;).
