Sunday morning a trail run with a ending for a christmas party at Glen and Guys house. Address is posted on yahoo board. We need a time and meeting place for sunday, and a trail leader. I suggest a Shawnigan lake run may even have snow. Any ideas? Tim Hortons Mill Bay at 9:30ish? leave at 10:00? or earlier? please post up so we can figure the run and the christmas party numbers.

Ps if the time permits we may even be able to wish Christmas cheer on members not on the island ;}

k....im just gunno throw this out there but i was thinking of looking for trails maybe thurs or friday....kinda leaving it till the last minute but i can go out for a quick jaunt after my exam on thrusday, maybe even sucker a buddy and nick into checken stuff out with me....go see what gates are open ect. tims works...., w/e works best for everybody...nothing with too much pucker factor i think...but wheres the fun without it eh?

sounds good, I'll be there.

Yay, I can make this one.

Tim's @ Mill Bay around 9:30. See you there.

you bums... I'll be stuck in the hangar away from my cruiser with snow on the ground... I hate how it always snows when I'm at work!

So are you saying that if you call in sick it won't snow?

pussies!

we must have missed u at tims this morning there morgan....we were there

Hey, I was on my way out the door when Jason called.

I like you and all, but no way was I going to scale the 'Hat for a cup of coffee just to drive back.

Instead, after Jason told me the trip was canceled, I went to fuel-up and ended up pushing some crazy chick's car out of a ditch at the gas station. Got boots full of snow and frozen ears as a result. Shoulda gone to Mill Bay after all!

So are you saying that if you call in sick it won't snow?

I don't know about calling in sick, I'm still away from home. I'm just sick in a hotel room instead! And they will think I'm hungover...

We only got an inch up here in campbell river!:frown:

Oh ya, and its pretty lame when a 4x4 club cancels a run because of snow... The sidewinder member suggested that a couple years ago and got an ear full.

Now this is one of the funniest threads I've read on MUD.:lol::lol: Don't worry guys, I won't run a link from Chat. ;) Really! :D

Little thing called the malahat there sonny...

when the highway on route to the wheeling destination is practically closed, does it really make sense to spend 4 hours in slow moving traffic only to turn around an come home?

There is this very Little bump on the Island called the malahat there sonny...

Fixed it. ;p :D

Okay, I will grant you that sitting in 4 hours of traffic is not worth it. Yes I have done that little bump in the snow quite a few times and have seen one pile up after another. Hopefully the day will come in BC when it will be law that everyone has snow tires on their vehicles from Dec 1 to March 1. Having to drive the province for work, its one of the reasons I moved to the FV. One winter trip to Fort St. James it took me nearly 4 hours to get to Chilliwack from Vancouver. By the time I hit Cache Creek or Rock Creek, I usually see the last of the idiots crawling on all season tread at 50-60 kms/hr. Last year I had a lecture from a guy I passed and caught up to me at a restaraunt in Osoyoos. Shut him up quick when I pointed out my studded Nokians compared to his ****py Tire all seasons.

Well it didn't take 4 hours to go over the hat! Also there wasn't to many idiots out. It took me an hour to get to mill bay. Also around a 1100 all the snowing stopped. I was the brave soul who made it to mill bay to find out it was canceled. The coffee was good though.

THX Jay

The funny thing is that I blew-off my work Christmas party to go wheeling, and I was all, like, "fxxx, yeah, I hate office parties and now I don't have to go because I have a valid excuse!".

Except today I went in to the office and asked how the party was (as if I care!!) and was told "well, we had to reschedule it due to the weather, so now you'll be able to make it!".

So, if anyone is interested in rescheduling this wheeling adventure, Sunday Jan 4 would be ideal.

Providing the roads are clear, of course.
