For anyone who is interested a few of us are going wheeling this Sunday, Aug. 30th. Meeting at the Sepulveda exit of the 101 at 9am.

I know in theory everyone wishes they could make it, but please try and keep the replies to those who will actually be coming. Cheers

Hey Sam,

How would you rate the trail as far difficulty goes ?

The trail is moderate IMHO... but there are bypasses for each section. Basically the trail heads straight over the mtn while the fire road winds inbetween the trail. 31's and up are fine..... 33's with at least one locker would be my suggestion for the harder sections.. but like i said, you can just bypass if you want. 35's, locked up front and rear and up you can walk it all easy. Sam can do it backwards blind folded with his rig.

This is one of my favorite trails in SoCal... i don't know why.. it's just fun. Take pics Sam!

Harry, I've run it stock on 30's with running boards unlocked. Your rig will have no issues you're solid.

I did the Cleghorn Ridge trail today. Figure there was no need to start a new thread to make a little report. Just adding my 2 cents in case anybody does a search for a little report on it. Had my wife, three little kids, and mother-in-law with me.

Nice little trail. If you're running 33's or bigger, I'd probably rate it as easy. There are a couple rutted spots (probably from the heavy rains this past season) where I scraped the bottom. But I wasn't paying to close attention to my line. I probably could have avoided it with a different line. Lifted on 35's, in H the whole time with no problems. Didn't even bother to air down.

There are several splits in the trail where you can take a more difficult route. But the wife vetoed all of those choices. It was her and her mom's first time out on a trail. So they were grippin' it a little. It was all good though, as I was glad she was enjoying the ride. My boy's, both 4 years old, were both whoopin' it up in the 3rd row seats. They almost outed me by shouting this was a fun as the last time. The wife doesn't know I've taken them out on some wheelin' trails before. I told her they were exaggerating and that it was just a dirt road on the way fishing.

Anyways, the crossover spots are definitely more challenging. A couple of the them seemed only wide enough for an atv.

The trail lets out by Silverwood Lake. You get some nice views of the lake and Cajon pass from the trail. Only saw a two Jeeps and maybe a dozen dirt bikes/atv's on it.

Its a nice trail to take the family on. Nice views. You can make it more challenging if you want. Not crowded. Close to the IE. Lets out near a lake. We ended up eating near Arrowhead Lake. Made for a nice day to celebrate one of my boy's birthday.
