Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Seems like I've seen this mentioned somewhere before, but most recently it was being demonstrated at the LA county fair. It takes regular wire and makes it into some sort of super-clamp. The most impressive demonstration was clamping some 1 1/2" radiator hose onto what looked like 5/8 radiator hose. It was able to squeeze the larger hose down small enough to close up a huge gap, and make a good seal. They also showed it using a coat hanger to seal thin walled drain pipe from a sink.
It looks like the perfect solution for a problem I don't have. Honestly, I really want one, and it's cool enough that I will probably get one eventually, but I just can't really see myself using it that often. Aside from really high pressure hydraulic hoses, I can't think of anything else I would need to use this for that a pair of pliers wouldn't work. Plus it seems a little expensive for what is essentially a bolt and wingnut with some roll-pins. Can anyone make up a good excuse so I can justify the purchase? Could it come in handy for some emergency repairs somewhere?
