I'm interested in checking out the trailer if possible. I'm located between Ft. Collins & Greeley Co so I could swing by if it is located somewhere I could take a peek.

Any idea on trailer weight? I would be towing w/ FJ40.

Please let me know - thanks!

Unless your just towing it around your field it ain't going to work. This is 1 1/2 ton trailer for a duece not a 1/4 ton trailer :whoops:

west - im a noob when it comes to trailers. why would this trailer not work? couldn't a cruiser tow it? anyone can chime in here.

That 1 1/2 rating is for off road use, on highway the rating is alot higher. This is way too much trailer for a FJ40 unless like wesintl stated you use it around your property. The military only uses a 3/4 rated trailer behind the HUMMVEEs. I have a old US M101 3/4 trailer that I have pulled behind a FJ40 but that was only down a country road to haul trash to a slash pit. I would never want to tow it in traffic. The 1/4 trailer is the size best suited to an FJ40.

If you've ever seen one of these trailers in person you wouldn't even talk about using it behind a Cruiser.
As mentioned it is rated at "3000 pounds" That's it's carrying capacity. Off road. IMHO that should be "off road when towed behind a vehicle driven by a scared 19 year old recruit who has never driven a truck before and is being shot at".

The highway rating is generally twice the off road rating. The same overly conservative rating system applies.

This trailer is too big and too heavy for a cruiser to haul on the trail even empty.

Mark...

i went and looked at an axle a guy was giving away off of one of those.
that is one big heavy trailer.
the guy said it's used to haul ammunition (sp) and alot of it.

delinitly NOT a trail trailer........unless maybe you have a H2 or H3 :D
