Ladies,

I found the coolest place to get a xmas tree tonight. Take 49 North to Pocahontas, pass the teepee on rt., take your next left on Killebrew (heading West). Drive a couple miles and you'll see a tiny sign on the left that says "Springridge xmas tree farm- 1 mile". Follow the signs and you'll end up at this farm. The old man hands you a saw and you drive down into the fields and cut your tree! $4/foot. Awesome selection of trees, from 1 to probably 12 feet.

I talked to the old man for a while- it's MS' oldest chrimmaz tree farm. He said, "in 50 years, we've only had to give one refund for a tree."

Give your money to locals rather than Home Despot- I believe it goes to a church around there. Plus, the tree is fresh. Most of the lots that sell them have trees that are a couple weeks old already. By the time the Fat Man slides down your chimney, your tree will be shedding mad.

I plan on making another trip tomorrow afternoon for a tree for my mother. If anyone wants to caravan, holla.

Cheers,

BM

Very cool. I'll be there monday. Thanks for posting this. I wish we could just go into the woods and get one like I did as a kid in New Mexico. We used to go into the snowy mountains and chop down a tree. All you needed was a permit which cost a few dollars. I suppose one could chop down a swamp cypress or maybe a magnolia around here.

Yeah, I am about to go to my mother's to hang wreaths; I will find out her schedule and call you. The farm opens at 1:00, and it's a 25 minute drive.

I will call ya in a bit.

Anyone else want to go? Jeff? Clutchee? Chris?

Greg, I know that you are Buddhist, but I'll buy you a 2' tree if you'll go.

or yall could come buy madison garden center and get your tree although we dont have many large trees left but would love to strap on on top of a cruiser.

We've picked up the annual Fraizer fur from Lowes, but used to head out there when our children were young - in fact i recall picking up a tree there while being off when KA was born 20 years back. Take your kids or borrow some; we have great pictures from those trips out to gather one up.
