Hi, I'm looking to buy my boys (2)an RC truck or buggy and found locally the duratrax evader ext for $150 with a charger, batt, and radio included. I checked ebay and found the same thing for $140+ SHIPPED but time is short. Is this a good unit or a piece of junk? I read a positive review online and saw some used units on ebay but don't know if that is buyer's remorse or upgrading.. I originally didn't want to spend much more than a $100 each but see that is unrealistic unless I go mini or micro scale.. 1/16 (?) TIA, Kief.

If it's just for bashing and playin' around you should look into the XTM Rage. Yes, they're 1/18th scale but good little off-road cars. The RTR runs around $100 to $120 at Hobby People and its complete (charger, Rx/Tx and battery)

For 1/10th scale as you said, it'll cost more.

Thanks, I went ahead and got the 1/10 scale duratrax.. It looks fairly well put together. I haven't had a whole lot of time to do research and kind of wish I had shopped around more for the 1/18th scale but at least I have something to put under the tree and I was surprised that they come with two batteries.. I have 3 acres so we'll have to put in a track out in the field.

Good

I like them, we have had some issues with the dynamite batt's (1500mah) not fully charging and the ESC seems to be fickle when it comes to the start up period and getting dialed in with the radio. I have one leaky shock that is supposedly being sent to me. My kids like them and were driving them on pillows and misc. obstacles in the house.
I always thought the RC thing was kind of goofy but now I want rock crawler. I think I better wait and finish a real rig first.
