New member looking for help fj40 mechanic . I am in Glenview Illinois and looking for someone who knows how to work on fj40.

What in particular are you looking to have done? What year and type of motor?

1 have 78 fj40 and need remove locker from rear differential and put original gears, and some other minor work

I've used them for several years - they're not far from downtown. Done work on all my trucks and personal vehicles.

Honestly, are you calling the shops asking for them to put unknown used parts back in the rig? If that's the case you are going to have a very tough time getting any shop to put their name on that work.

Really. Tom is normally very accomodating - maybe it's just for me then.

#2 is Mark O'Mera who's at Link Automotive in Palatine (847) 253-8700. He used to have his own shop and now works at Link Automotive on Industrial in Palatine. He's done bunch of work over the years on our 62 and 55's. I stopped using him when he hired a bunch of knuckleheads that didn's know crap. He turning wrenches himself again - lots of experience.
