Hi guys-
I got my first FJ Cruiser a little over a month ago and was surprised at the lack of storage it has. I mean....I had researched and read about this but really had no idea how little storage there was until I was in the process of transferring all of my EDC items from my old rig!

"Sweet!" I thought..."Time for some creative mods!"

The first storage area I decided to tackle was the cargo door. I went to WalMart and bought a "Auto Drive Over the Seat Organizer" and secured in to the door. Best $9 mod I have ever done!

Next I decided to see what I could do up on the roof rack. I ordered some ammo cans from Amazon and bolted them up there. Waterproof, rugged, and looking at them conjures the image of blowing stuff up (Especially with the explosive HazMat decal still on it!)

I decided to stick with the Ammo Can idea for inside the cargo area. I had to modify this can, though, because I wanted one that would open from the side. A sawzall and a couple of hinges later are here is the result:

That is what I have for now, but there are a few more ideas circulating up in the thinking cap. I'll post updates when they become realities.

Thanks for looking!

MUD admins will remind you that hot-linking images is a losing battle (research PhotoBucket debacle). You can host unlimited images on MUD. Use the Upload File button (5 or less images per post, though).

My personal experience is that if you are using Google Photos to host your images, then you need to click on image in GP to enlarge, then right click, copy image link. The other tools provided by Google don't seem to apply here on MUD.
