That thing is nice - to reduce gasoline stinky vapors. But I don’t know if it would pass visual on a CA smog test.

Good point. I have a Cali smog check coming up next month...😬😬

It would not pass Commie Smog Inspection

That’s because the charcoal canister internal check valve is clogged. They all are at this point.

Swap the two small hoses on the charcoal canister (Tank & Purge) and the pressurization will end.
The Purge pipe on the canister doesn’t have a check valve so vapors can flow freely.
No tank pressure.
Hey OSS,

When you switch the two hoses what's the downside of this? Also, in relation to your earlier post about one purging to the tank and one to the atmosphere, is there a filter needed for the one going to the outside air? Recall someone saying a dust filter that attaches directly to the CC but can't find one if you have any ideas.

Would be very curious to see what your own setup really looks like, and if using any of the fittings the OP mentioned on page 1 on necessary. Right now I have stretched all the hoses on (nearly impossible to get off LOL), but definitely makes sense that adapters would make for an easier fitment....

Thanks for your ancient wisdom in the ways of The Force, I mean toyota emissions engineering.....🤣🙇‍♂️

The tank will evaporate the gas in it a little faster because there’s no check valve. Normally there’s a 3psi or so pressure gradient caused by the check valve.
There really isn’t a significant downside to swapping the hoses at this point. Better to eliminate pressure in the tank than blow it apart at the seams.

I -believe- that the fuel tank recall for FJ60 is due to the faulty charcoal canister blowing the tanks apart. My guess.
