I did my 5 tire rotation this week. And was shocked to see this part of my spare carrier was rusted to hell. I'm not reinstalling my spare with it in fear of it falling out and going through some old lady's windshield.
As I'm shopping for replacements it appears the original cable has been replaced with a chain mechanism. Has anybody done this and what are their thoughts on the chain. I can get a non-OEM chain system for not terribly much. Chain Part Number 51900-60280, Cable Part Number 51900-35380.
Does anybody have experience with either of these and thoughts on which is better?
