I’m seriously kicking around the idea of sealing a raw plate bumper with This . From what I have read the rustoleum/ anything else at Lowes rattle can clears probably won’t work well on raw steel. It would be awesome if they did bc it’s cheap.

Does anyone have any experience with the non-bake cerakote, or any other suggestions? Do rattle can clears work with bare metal? Screw off you hooligan it won’t work?

I have ckear Cerakote on several knives, the clear is great but they're all over blasted steel, YMMV. It looks like a medium grey.

Check out a few Rat Rod forums, they clear over steel often and maybe you'll find some tips
