Center dump exhaust manfolds

i am swapping in a chevy 350 into my 72 fj40 and am now in the process of getting all the 'extra' stuff for the engine (ignition, exhaust, pumps, pulley, etc). i am going with the early-mdoel corvette center dump (ramshorn) exhaust manifolds. my question is what style to get? do i want ones with the alternator or generator mounts? which side do i want the mounts on (left or right or both)? what have other people had the best results with?

just hoping to make things as easy as possible when i go put it all together.

I have used these, and cut the gen/alt mount off, no big deal...

thanks for the reply and the pictures. so if i had my choice, i should just get manifolds without any mounts cast in? that way i dont have to cut anything off.

once i do that, where do most of the brackets mount to then? water pump? this is my first engine build-up, so i apologize for the simplistic questions.

FWIW, I ramshorn and got the manifold on the left one and have alt mounted there. I also send mine off to be ceramic coated. Cuts down on underhood temps quite a bit. I used these guys. www.hpcoatings.com and am very happy with the results. I drove around with one coated and one not for a week or so and measured temps w/ IR thermometer. difference was over 300 degrees!

I run ramhorns also but I like the left one with the generator mounts. I use those extra mounts for my on-board-air compressor. Works good and leaves enough room for dual alternators, power steering pump, etc.

I recently replaced my worn-out/destroyed Oem Ram horns with Ram horns from Dorman. $97.00 through Ace Warehouse in Salt Lake. I had to shop around to get that price, some parts houses wanted as much as $135.00 for the manifold. These new ones are way beefier than the old ones I had.
