I am right under my truck and have removed the center diff lock actuator. My fuse was being blown because the motor got stuck. When I tore everything apart it started working again. Strange stuff but I will try to install it and check in the field.

I have a few questions.

When I apply electricity to the two cables going to the motor, the whole ring gear inside the actuator moves around 360* degrees but in one place there is a bit of binding. It looks like the whole ring gear goes up, as if lifted by the worm gear of the motor, and then it goes down (but completes the full circle).

When I change the polarity the motor moves freely but at the same point binds and stops completely. Is this normal? Should the ring move all around in both directions or maybe there is a section without teeth?

So how should I install the ring gear to make sure that once it is connected with the t-case, the CDL will engage/disengage properly?
