heya folks, looking for ideas/tips on how to repair this or find replacement part. its 08 red style (found earlier replacement, but older color).
these seem to have a metal backing, can they be heated flat again? has anyone done custom replacements?

I had the same issue, finding a replacement for that will be a challenge and not cheap. Mine was not that red style but the orange style (05), so this triggered my wrapping all of the orange trim with a black/aluminum 3m wrap. I pulled the whole unit off, took off the orange cover that was damaged like yours, and sanded the remaining piece down to make it smooth. recovered it with the 3m wrap, I am much happier with it. Wrapping the piece you referenced was the easiest of the project, as it is flat.
well, finally found one on
ebay. paid too much but what you gonna do. swapping wasn't too bad. looks much better.
