Came on yesterday...pulled the code, looked it up under the FAQ link provided. What does this mean? :frown:

P0136: Heated O2 sensor circuit malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2): Trouble Areas: heated O2 sensor

This is your number 1 O2 sensor--if you follow your exhaust down from the engine, it is the first O2 sensor before the cat.

You need to replace it. That's about it.

Not a bad idea. Generally, if one is failing, the other one won't be too far behind it.

EDIT: Crap, I misread your original statement of the problem. You said Bank 1 Sensor 2. That is the downline O2 sensor, the one **after** the cat, not before it.

Sorry. Just noticed my mistake. Either way, you need to replace it.

the second 02 sensor does not give the engine any info regarding amount of fuel injected or fuel air ratio, It is only a code telling how well the cats are working, correct? I know the first sensor will affect engine performance, but I’m just checking that the second does not do this, and is not necessary to change in terms of making the engine run smoother. Just got the code so just confirming this info.
