The info about those awkward screws being hex head saved me a bucket load of time. Many thanks for the post.The next set of screws are midway down the console.

You will need to find the right position for the seat to be in to access these screws. They can be removed with a long Philips screwdriver. Once these are removed set the seats to the maximum rear position. There is one more set of screws that are pretty tough to access.
View attachment 1489836 I used a cheap angle screwdriver. $2.99 at Harbor Freight. Don't expect any quality from it.
View attachment 1489835 It was tight but I got them out. Once I removed them I saw they have a hex head. They are an 8mm. Now the console is completely free. Gently pull up and out. You will need to find the best position for the seat and parking brake to remove the console.
View attachment 1489837 Take your time and don’t jerk and pull too hard. It will come easy once the seats are in the correct position. You now have just the CD Changer exposed.

Sweet. One of the many things on my to do list is yanking the cd changer and fabbing a lock box to fit in there.
