I can't make this meeting as our pool team is going to Vegas to play in the Nationals. We won a trip at our year end tourney.

Cool, congrats!

As an experienced Vegas'r now (does one weekend count as "an experience"?), let me offer a few words of advice:

Their transit system blows, walking is damn near faster. Or take a cab, cabs are EVERYWHERE.
Consult many of the google entries for "cheapskate guides to vegas", which I failed to do before we went.
Anything and everything on the strip is stupid expensive.

And on your way back, DO NOT speed through Sumas!;)

X2 on the congrats. Keep an eye on your back side. One of the IVOAC committee members was mugged down there last year. The big casinos are safe cause they have security coming out their ying yangs. Problems can happen going between Casinos. Suppose if you are walking around with a pool cue case that may intimidate some opportunists.:grinpimp:

The casinos are a lot further apart than they look. Taxis don't like stopping on the strip so it is faster to line up at a hotel taxi line. And try not to look when they flick the cards on the side walk...or look depending on what you want to see.

Sorry I can't make the meeting. It's my B-Day so my wife has something special planned for me...much better than a CC meeting(sorry guys).

I will be there

COASTAL CRUISER MEETING THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 2008

MEMBERS PRESENT: Rob Cz, Craig E, Gary T, Mike McT, Mat R, Mike N, Rob Millson, Rod McD, Brad R & Sarah, Jeff S, Drew E, Steve T, Marcin C, and Bill.
Guests: Jason E, Steve Bates, and Weird Al Yankovic.

-Recent wheeling activities: Drew went to Mohave. Pictures are in Mud.
Also, Steve T reminded members to show road etiquette by always waiting for the cruiser behind you at trail intersections.

July 1 weekend trip to Roche Lake. Members interested so far are Steve T, Jeff S, Rob Millson, Bill, and Gary. Most are leaving Saturday morning and will meet at Earnest Lake (beyond Black Lake)

DIESEL AND GAS PRICES: The need to save fuel: the price of fuel restricts club trip distances. The cheapest place in the valley to fuel up is at the Truck Stop Shell station on Lickman Road in Chilliwack. In Vancouver, try the station at Boundary Road and Marine Way.

August 4 Monday Long Weekend. We are going to Whipsaw. Members interested in going are Steve T, Rod McD, Drew E, Jeff S, Rob Cz, Craig E, Marcin, Bill, & Gary T. Many are going in the back way through Coalmont to Loadstone Lake. Bill and Gary T are going early, like Friday August 1, probably from the Princeton Whipsaw entrance.

Cruiser Days – July 19, Deas Island Park. Most plans are complete. Remember to post the ads at dealers, etc. We need some signage outside the Park. The camping arrangements are not figured out yet. The club will finance a winch prize.

Website Coastal Cruisers Marcin wants more member’s rigs in the picture section. Some members have not yet contributed, so, let’s do it.

Raffle: Mat won the wheeled dolly and the electric mug, Steve T got the creeper and steel work station, Rob Millson the seat Gel Pad, Mike McT the Gerry Can, Steve Bates the remote license plate display, and Jason C the mini-camera.

The meeting broke up by 10:00; it seems that now that we are getting older, its early to bed!

I'm sure of we put a wig on Scalp, he could pass for Weird Al.

Hair is vastly over-rated! Look at all the money I save on shampoos, conditioners, colouring, haircuts & styling, dryers, combs & brushes, dandruff preps, etc. I never have bed hair or bad hair days. Shower times are cut in half. Besides, women love my head because its a sign of verility and testosterone abundance. My head is a babe magnet. ;)

I guess it saves them having to pack around a mirror. :)
