Hi all,

Would installing a catchcan void a warranty? I've noticed black soot build up on my exhaust tailpipe. (2017 200 series 44,000kms)

After doing some research on multiple forums and FB pages there is a known issue about late model 200's getting all new injectors and DPF's because of this tell tale sign of black soot- due to faulty injectors and DPF's.

I'm wondering if a catchcan would void my warranty when it comes to this issue? I would have thought the opposite as it catches excess oil going back through the system hence keeping exhaust fumes cleaner.
I've booked in to a dealership to have it looked at but would like some ammo to use if they try and get out of it. Cheers in advance!

Is this a diesel or gasser?

Check out the FaceBook group: 200 Series Landcruiser Owners.
It’s mostly you guys from AU, the land of the diesel 200s. There’s a LOT of owners in that group.

Yeah have searched that group and there's heaps of info on the issue. I'm guessing it's up yo the the dealer if they decide to do the right thing and replace the faulty injectors and dpf's. One can only hope especially considering the cost of the vehicles and the issue they are having with very low km's.

On my merc. benz diesel it doesn't void it. Not spraying oil mist all over my turbo and intake manifold does not harm the engine.
