I didn’t find a thorough enough thread here so I thought I’d create one.
I’m curious if anyone has tried and true catch cans on their 1KZ-TE?
I’m nervous to put one on, as I installed a Mishimoto catch can on my Delica, and it most certainly over-pressurized the oil pressure and blew out my turbo. The turbine side had 10mm thick burnt oil when I finally got to it.
This particular design had a micro-mesh baffle, but no filter, so it really didn’t seem too restrictive.
I’m fully intent on keeping the EGR system intact, so the oil in the CCV tube is my true enemy.
I’m not afraid of a clean out every now and then, but if anyone has a great can I’m interested in mitigating oil in the blow-by.
Interested to hear both success and horror stories here. I can’t imagine I’m the only one with a negative experience of a catch cans.
