Hi everyone. My '06 LX470 is throwing P0420 and P0430 codes. Has been doing so intermittently for about six months. The driver side cat is also rattling pretty loudly. I took it into the dealership just to make sure and they said the cat is failing. It's an aftermarket cat that was welded on. I still have the original on the passenger side.
I'm planning on replacing the driver side cat and the upstream and downstream O2 sensors on both sides but the question is how soon do I need to do it. By driving with the broken cat, am I putting the engine at risk?
