I'm hunting for a cast iron Belgian style waffle iron. It needs to cast iron for use on an induction cooktop. I'd like it to be like the Nordicware #15040 4 slice waffle iron but made out of cast iron instead of cast aluminum. Rome makes a 2 slice sized one, #1405, that may have to do. I could always get two or more of them. The Old Mountain Cast Iron Waffle Iron looks not much better than the Rome one.

BTW, I already own a 30+ year old NordicWare #15000 which is like the #15040 for sale now, but has thermometers on both sides. The thermometers make cleaning a pain, you can't get them wet, but they make cooking very easy and consistent.

I've already seen it and it's long handled cousin. Both are shallow dimpled. Also round doesn't work for the decadent breakfasts and brunches I make with them.

I also saw a square cast iron waffle iron on that site.
Their square one is the same as the first one I mentioned.

I'm starting to wonder what it would cost to have one made. Unfortunately I no longer know anybody who does iron casting.
