what's it like out there in the Nat Monumnent?
worth checking out?
what's to explore?

Its weird, it feels like you've gone back in time to the 1800's in central CA. Yes, its worth checking out if your into overlanding type stuff and not hard core rockcrawling. You can do it in a rental car. I would head out in a few weeks and see if the flowers are blooming. We really went on the worst weekend we could ever had gone. As far as exploring, there's 50 miles of valley that is 15 miles wide. There's indian drawings, fault line cracks, tons of history and it has a ton of endangered animals in one area.

here's their site..

Sucks about the rain dude. If it works out again, definitely make another trip. Its a pretty cool place to spend some time. Some of the roads that go over the mountains can be pretty knarly too. I got my jeep stuck out there once while hunting. My buddy and I were not pleased...

Looks like fun, cold but fun.
