carburator economizing????

hey!
iv got a land cruser short chassis, 22R, 87 model.
does any one know how to set the carb! cse my cars is sippin alot of fuel! lik 5km/l or less. iv changed the filters(oil, fuel) sparkplugs, but its still givin me less millage. any ideas on how i can do it in doors on my own o wht i can tell the mechanic to do for me!

Have you put a kit through it? I dont know much about these carbs ,or carbs in general but I think these had some inherent problem with the fuel float or a valve ,or maybe that was on something else.
Crushers should know or try the mini truck forums on MUD.Lots of the old Hiluxes had 22R engines.
