Expat living in Saudi. Back in 2021 I bought a 1991 80 series with 203,000kms (126k miles). It's a great vehicle and hope to bring it back to the states when I leave KSA. Before I do, I want to do something about my carb. Converting to EFI isnt an option here so my thoughts are to either reach out to the Toyota parts manufacturer to see if they have any new old stock which will run me around 3700SR or around $1000 or should I try to find a nice aftermarket carb thats made in Japan, which will run me around 1200sr or $320. Having the local shop put it in and calibrate it will only cost $50. That's quite the price differential, is there that much of a difference in value and performance/durability?
