Does any one know if the 22R was every released with a carb that mounted with three bolts, in a triangle pattern?

I have an adapter that uses the three holes shown in the picture. Supposedly, all three should be pre tapped for a M8x1.XX bolt from factory, but only the bolt circled in RED is.

Because of the design of this adapter, I am going to have to tap the other two holes for an M10x1.75 and use an insert to adapt to the M8x1.XX bolts. They supply "special" allen head bolts that must be used so the sit level with the adapter and allow the Throttle body to sit flush, else I would just use M10's or whatever.

So, is the manufactuer crazy, or are they crazy?

Tap the 2 green holes M10x1.25, and get 2 new allen head bolts from the hardware store (Tractor Supply/Lowe/Home Depot/any Ace Hardware) that look like this:

Drill the corresponding holes in the adapter to fit the M10 bolt (if it doesn't fit already, and bolt'er up!
