First carniage and I didn't even get the honor of doing it myself. Truck was at the Steelership for service and the tech decided to try exiting through a smaller door than he entered through.

The impact seemed to hit the ladder directly, breaking the rivets that hold the ladder and bending the hinges and aftermarket rack quite a bit. Surprisingly, the mounting points on the tent are still solid and the factory rack showed no signs of impact.

They said to supply a receipt and they will write me a check.

I will check with Mel, but I bet all of the promo marketing tents are gone, so this could be an opportunity for an upgrade.

Should I ask for the purchase price or replacement cost?

Here are a few pics. I will get better ones tomorrow in the daylight.

Sorry to hear about the new tent. Go for MSRP of the tent and rack components. You don't think for one minute the dealership would cut you a deal if were buying parts there as an avg. Joe do you? Use the $$ to upgrade or replace and add on.

Yea...it stinks. Only got to use it 5 times. You are right though, they didn't bat an eyelash after charging me $2,000 for a brake booster.

Go for replacement cost...plus labor $ to install...

yup, happy concidence (it that one pans out)

check the rack and the roof!

These are first generation CCT's per Mel.

kls

you can see the ladder brackets in the pics...
one of main differences was the material for the bottom boards, IIRC

is this the same tent from the long roof top tent thread? has anyone tried one of these in a subtropical down poor?

the price is very attractive but it does not look like it could hold up to much rain,if it can hold up in a tropical storm or cna be easily modified to do so I am going to get one.

RT, this is not a downpour kind of tent, more like a summer one or an easy weather one...
it is apparently the earlier version of the recent big frenzy. The later one having been improved some. and we're told the next one is going to be better still...

but if you're not planning on rain and serious usage, that is some good deal...!

it would mainly be for Florida, especially the rainy season. so that si a no-go, Thanks for the info E

well, I have not yet slept in it in the rain, so I'm going by one or 2 reports here of water intrusion and my inspection (looks OK, but not safari quality).

Can't go too much wrong for $300 for a RTT, though, and could add a tarp on top as is being discussed here. May be worth trying it.
