Anyone have a car trailer or dolly that I could use? Looking at getting a vehicle from the island that is not drivable.

If no one has one, look into Uhaul. If it is just a dolly needed, then it might be better to just rent one on the Island one way. I guess it depends what you plan to haul back to the Mainland. I recommend the Duke Point Ferry if you are coming from anywhere North of the Malahat. It is easier to pull to Langley that way than through all the city traffic.

Uhaul charges something silly like $20 a day for the car hauler if you bring it back to the same location. Would be worth calling the island and finding out how much they would charge you for renting over there and returning here, see if it's cheaper than the ferry cost of bringing the trailer across. Could always see if anyone on the island needs a vehicle brought over from the mainland and split the cost.

good point on the oneway thing .might want to check the one way rental thing ,cause i did then went to hope to pick it up and they said it was local return only ,i tried reasoning with the guy as if how many local rentals he gets .long story short he won .i paid cash, did what i had to do ,then returned it to north van. scamer lost on that one . one way rental advertising franchise is exactly that one way rental. the ferries price is all about the length now not the height ,what are you getting an 80 parts rig.

I have been looking into the one way thing, its the first option I have. I'm trying to get two trucks back, I'm hoping one is drivable at least so I can get to across the ferry then tow it if needed from there.

The trucks are a secret till I get them. But I can give a hint......wait no I cant. :p

Could try and work out an arrangement with Happywife Towing, Nick has a flatdeck with a stinger, he can transport two trucks at a time. (604)451-5155

tow dolleys are a bitch. The vehicle needs to be insured as the tires touch the road. And it can't be over a certain weight. plus most of them need brakes now. A car trailer is a much better idea and ends up cheaper as you don't need to insure the vehicle being transported.

Yeah I remember that from the last time I tried to use one. I was just hoping that maybe the cost difference would off set the towed vehicle needing insurance. Well see what happens.
