Cape Lookout Trip - Weekend of May 9th - 10th

It's a little last minute but I'm planning a Cape Lookout trip for the weekend of May 9th - 10th. The weather that weekend should theoretically still be reasonable, and I'm wanting to primitive camp on the beach, I'll be sleeping in my truck. My goal is to explore the island including the lighthouse (I've been to Portsmouth but not Cape Lookout), get in some fishing, and generally have a good time.

My plan is to camp at a Hipcamp very near the ferry the evening of Thursday the 7th, catch the ferry the morning of the 8th and return on the 2:30pm Ferry on Monday the 11th.

If you want to come and do more or less, just meet up for a day, etc. then that would work nicely as well!

As a reminder we'll need an ORV permit, to book (and now pay for) the ferry in advance.

I personally would love to come. I have a 1y/o old to juggle with so im uncommitted at this time. I suggested to my wife that we maybe stay at the remote cabins the NPS has but she was not down haha.
