Just purchased a 2000 LC 100, and I cannot get the fog lights to come on. I have tried at night while driving with Auto on, then lights on. Just tried again with truck started in nutreul, no parking brake, lights on . Checked fuse #29 on left kick board. checked lights. Bought one replacement and still no lights. Am I doing something wrong?

Any info would be great

I have done searches in the 100 series search but cound not find this same problem

Everything else is awesome!!!

Have you checked the Fog lamp relay ?

It could be fried or perhaps missing...

Dont feel bad, I cant handle my liquor either :o

The fog lamp relay is buried in the drivers side kick panel. I will try to post a pic in the next day or two of its location, but I would suggest a factory Toyota EWD (electrical wiring diagram) for any further diagnosis ;)

Anyone want to chime in for more assistance ?

This may or may not help as it is from a 2003 diagram - although it may be similar.
The fog lamps only operate if the dimmer switch is in the low position, not high or flash. Of course the fog lamp switch must be on as well. The relay is powered by 2 fuses, 1 for the control circuit, 10A HEAD LH LOWER, and 2, the power circuit to the lamp, 15A FR FOG, I expect they are in different fuse boxes. I expect your circuit may be similar, although the fuse names may be different, however there is a good chance there are 2 fuses to check. Someone else may have the diagram for your model.

Just checked again everything mentioned as well as the 2nd set of fuses. Looked for a relay but I can not find it. Still no light. It must be the relay. I have spent the last hour looking for a wireing diagram but nothing available.
Sin a picture of the relay would be much appreciated!!!

I'll take a punt saying the relay is mounted on the back of the left kick panel fuse box, but relays don't usually fail very often compared to everything else such as fuses, switches and unplugged or bad connections. The 2002 diagram is also the same as the 2003, so I expect yours would be the same. The fuses are called the same thing in 2002 as well as 2003, have you found and checked both fuses? 10A HEAD LH LWR, 15A FR FOG The wire from the relay to the switch is Green with yellow stripe, it needs to be grounded to turn on the relay, as it is powered from the 10A HEAD LH LWR fuse through the relay coil and switched to ground to turn the relay on. (this is from the 2002 and 2003 diagram) It goes into the combination switch and if the fog switch is on and the main lamp is set to low then the relay is grounded via the switch and activated.

Also make sure the fog lights are properly plugged in and that they are grounded, if the ground wire is not attached underneath then no go. Someone may have had the bumper off and not plugged everything back in?

I will check those ideas as well. If one bulb is burnt or not connected will that cause bolth of them to not work? I only replaced one?

Thanks a ton for all your help. I will get to the bottom of this its killing me

The best guess I get from my EPC is the relay is on the back of the left kick panel fuse block(there are relays on the back of both left and right kick panel fuse blocks) but it will be the one that has the fuse for the FR FOG I expect. Put it in the garage when everything is quiet, turn the ignition ON, turn the headlights ON to LOW Beam, then operate the fog lamp switch and see if you can hear a relay click down at the kick panel.

Here is what I have on the foglight schematics. If needed, I can email you the pdf.

I can find the panel on the right half but I dont see the left half.

Uh, The "left half" is merely the backside of the right half... you have to remove the fuse box from the drivers-side kick and flip it over to reveal all of the relays silly
