Hey guys, just picked up Hltoppr's FJ45 so wanna join your club?

You've seen most of the pics from him before so I'll post some up later.

The plan right now is to come up a safe, family-friendly mechanism for at least 3 more seats. My plan is to try 80 series 3rd row fold up seats, match the wheel well rail to the 45 down one side in triplicate. This would allow the seats to fold up nicely, be Toyota and allow for child seats.

What other options might one have in terms of multiple classy seating?

NEXT, living Phoenix brings you painful summertime. What options can you think of for rear AC? I guess I could mount a compressor and condensor in the engine bay, but that's a long run back to the evaporator + fan and don't know what would be appropriate in terms of a non-hack-job?

Your thoughts appreciated.

You got a nice ride Scott. I have a set of flip ups (Grey) from my 94 to add to your set. You can have them for shipping (Greyhound would probably be cheapest).

Oh and welcome to the 45/47 club.

look at minivans and surburbans in the junkyard. they have rear air and might be worthy of swapping in.. most of the time it's a seperate condensor/ evap setup for the rear along with a blower. mounting it all first then building a fiberglass enclosure would be the cleanest setup. ac isn't rocket science i bought a book years ago and started reading. for the price of one major ac service call you can have all the tools of the trade.. vacuum pump, hoses and gauges.
