hey, thinking about getting 2 house bose speakers on ebay for my cruiser and attaching them to the rollcage but is it possible to hook up house hold speakers to a sony deck. Im sure just want to know what youall think.

okie,

you need to learn how to use this board. Do you have something for sale? Than WHY ARE YOU POSTING HERE? This should be in chat.

No you can not do this. It will not work. Household speakers are on a differant frequency than auto speakers.

Different resistance, not frequency. Household are usually 8 ohm, auto 4 ohm, so they will not play very loud---a consideration for 40 series interiors. But check the ohms on the back of the speaker--household are not always 8 ohm. There are also fully enclosed autosound speakers out there. Bose is just one player in a wide field, so don't get fixated on them.

Meanwhile, moderator!........ move this puppy to chat.

pimp, where'd you get those rollbar clamps from?

I used my 151's and attached the Bose bracket to the roll bar using
one of the existing bolts. They are right behind your head, but I like
it cause I can hear them better and they aren't really in the way.

Auto vs. home speakers

Just a note before you spend the dough on home speakers for your 40. AUto speakers have more "play" in teh speaker to allow for the bumping in an car. Home speakers are much "tighter" as they aren't moved around much while playing. This isn't to say they won't work, but apparently the sound is degraded significantly over time.

This info is from a cambridge soundworks guy that talked me out of the purchase I was going to make for my 40, along the lines of what has been posted here. Some home speakers (outdoor) setup for my cruiser.

Just passing along some information.
