Hey guys just wanted some input from fellow murders out there. I plan on running a 16in rim with what appears to be a 32.2in tall tire (265/75r/16). Everything on my truck is bone stock. Thanks!!!

If your springs are not sagged, they should just fit but may rub while flexing. If your 16" wheels are off a newer Toyota with IFS, '86 and above truck/4runner, the offset will be wrong and you'll need spacers.

the off-set would be on the rim not the tire.

the stock back spacing looks to be on a solid axle 3 3/8" on an ifs truck looks to be right around 4 7/8".

i can tell you the alloy wheels of a 90 4 runner 15" diameter rubbed the tie rods on my stock 84 4runner.
and when i say rubbed the truck would not move.

I had 32's on a stock 88 and they rubbed a little under flex.

Ok so it sounds like I'm just gonna run 31s on a 15in rim. I just hope the offset is correct on the rims I wanna use. How dos one tell?

You can run 33's if ya want.

on my 88 runner i ran dean mud terrain's in 33x9.5...had fresh leaf's in the back, but no lift. also got rid of the lip in the fender (and by that, i mean i used a dead blo)..never rubbed after that...think the solid axle has more clearance...

Ok sweet I think I'm gonna go for it! Any straight axle mudders feel free to chime in:D I don't so much worry about hitting the fenders as I do the leafs at full turn.

Chimin in: I ran 32x11:50 on 10in wide rims no rubbin on my 82

I'm no straight axle mudder, but you can run 33, 10.5 w/ no problem at all. No worries on hitting the leaf springs.

Yeah pretty sure.

The "10.5" is the important part of that post. The narrow tire doesn't have as wide a profile and will clear the inner fenders. Might need to love on the pinch weld a little, not sure. Those old SA trucks had nice big wheel wells. I am running a 265/75R16 (~32x11) on my 90 (IFS) with no rubbing and no clearance issues. The one thing I will add is all this is provided the original springs are not super sagged.

The springs are barely sagged a tiny bit but I was told that's how they are supposed to be...??? Idk the truck only has 130k original miles on it. But I will be scoreing some 4runner 16in rims soon so I'm gonna go for the 265/75/r16 size tires. I'm ordering them online so I'm just trying to make sure that they will work. I have some 1in wheel spacers if needed. What pinch welds are you referring to?

You should be fine with those. Like I said, I am running that same tire with no problems. One thing you will notice is that the 16" 4runner wheels will set an inch or so further inboard since they have more backspacing.

The pinch weld, as I understand it, is the seam that runs along the back of the front wheelwells where the body and inner fender meet. It is a small raised seam that sticks out maybe a half inch or so.
