Home Depot sold a pallet of fuel bottles about 3' high in several days at that price - I bought 12.

I prefer to just refill my propane tank and have one or two of those bottles as a back up that sit and age in my camping box. I hate the fact that they are not reusable and a pain in the ass to recycle. You'd think we'd figure out a system for that by now.

They do recycle them and you can buy a refill kit at cabelas

I hate to tell you but they won't carry them. Last I understood it is not legal in canada to refill the "disposable" propane cylinders

No gauge, no safety, randomly meet at Skytrain stations, sounds totally legit and safe.

They are 'disposable' so when empty I turf them out on a trip or if convenient I drop off at the recycling section at the dump where I go to every 6 weeks with my trailer. .. So they can be recycled - what's the issue?
That refillable deal works, but they only equalize pressure between the two containers so they will not fill the 1 lb bottle as full as new. - at $2.80 each I got them for -- they are cheap and super convenient. For longer setups I use the 5 lb bottle.
Its nice to have choices.
