Camping at Sheep Canyon Jan 23-24

If anyone is interested I am heading out to Sheep Canyon with a friend and his family Jan 23-24 to camp out. We are still firming up tha plans but will probably head out there mid-morning on the 23rd run up lower Coyote Canyon and set up camp at Sheep Canyon before hiking up some of the canyons to check out the waterfalls.

If the sky is clear that night I am going to try my hand at some night photography and try and capture some star trails.

Hey Dan,
Did you install a safari snorkel? I hope you're reconsidering the trip next weekend with all these storms in the forecast. There is a huge amount of rain expected so I doubt 3rd crossing will be passable. If you do go, defintely take some pics.

Have to agree about the weather. First storm hitting now and a huge one is supposed to dump Tues-Thurs. and more rain all the way thru the weekend.

Couldn't be better for me - headed to Snow Valley with the scouts the 22nd, and skiing the 23rd. Only issue may actually be getting there!

Yep, decided to postpone the trip until a future date due to the rain. I will be in AB Feb 18 - 21 for a family event and will try to get over to Sheep Canyon then.

I love it up there! Another great place back away from everything is out near Carrizo Station...far to the right of the actual stage coach location, there's a little place with a beautiful view and NOBODY around! One little mud hole in the route would make it impassable right now too tho!
