I'll chime in here one more time. Insurance companies want to do one thing with claims files -- close them. You can be friendly and decent to the adjuster and still make it difficult for the adjuster to close the file without paying a fair price. With a speciality vehicle, one of the best ways to do that is to ask the adjuster to find a suitable replacement. This does two things: (1) it helps the adjuster to see that book value isn't always realistic and (2) it keeps the file open while the adjuster tries to find a suitable replacement. Often, the easiest thing for the aduster to do will be to pay the fair price.
